Sydney, Australia’s most populated city boasting the world’s largest natural harbour, is located on Australia’s east coast. Over 4 million residents call Sydney home, speaking over 250 languages. In a 2012 report conducted by PriceWaterCoopers, Sydney ranks 11^th in the world for economic opportunity.  48 percent of the top 500 companies in Australia are based in Sydney, and global companies have regional offices in the city. The population is diverse, with mass migration to the city post World War II. In fact, 42 percent of the population was born overseas, making it a melting pot of Chinese, English, Irish and other groups.
 
Popular attractions include the Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, as well as natural spots like Bondi Beach, the latter being the country’s most famous beach. Outdoor and water activities are a favorite pastime of many who dwell in Sydney. For the adventurous, there’s Manly Sea Life Sanctuary, where you can scuba dive amongst sharks. There are also surfing and snorkeling lessons, for a less heart palpitating experience in the water. The spacious Centennial Park at 470 acres is ideal for relaxing, eating and watching bikers.
 
Sydney has a great nightlife scene, whether it’s low-key bars or parties on the beach. There’s no shortage of boutiques, galleries, museums, theaters and outdoor music festivals. The Australia Museum in Sydney is the country’s oldest natural history museum. Other art centres in the city include the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Sydney plays host to Australia’s largest New Year’s Eve celebration, Australian Fashion Week, Sydney Mardi Gras and Sydney Festival.
 
Sydney has a large tram system, with bus services and train services also popular. Sydney Airport services 46 international and 23 domestic destinations and is Australia’s busiest airport.
