What does your business do?

Circle Asia Ltd is the Asia Pacific underwriting hub for global specialty risks insurer Circles Group. Our unique insurance product lines include:

• Circle Film for the film and television industry – All risks Film & TV production insurance including Support/Negative, Cast, Equipment, Liability, & Personal Accident
• Circle Event for the events and entertainment industry – All risks Events insurance including Event Cancellation, Liability, Equipment, Weather, & Personal Accident
• Circle Promotion to support corporate marketing campaigns – Prize Indemnity, Over-Redemption, Hole in 1
• Circle Assets for high net worth individuals and corporate executives – Comprehensive Worldwide coverage for Home & Contents, Collections, & Personal Liability

Our regional network of insurance brokers and agents have exclusive access to our online quotation system in order to provide fast and competitive solutions for our clients.

We are an underwriting agent of Lloyd’s of London which gives us the ability to access the Lloyd’s global license network and provide our customers with S&P A+ financial security for all our insurance policies.
 

When was your company founded?

Circles Group started in the late ‘90s in Europe. In 2009, we expanded to Latin America with our office in Rio de Janeiro, and Circle Asia began trading in 2013 out of Hong Kong.
 

What is the biggest business challenge you face?

Raising awareness for our products to our brokers/agents and their end clients across the region. Our product offerings are unique and in many cases new to the marketplaces we service. Every market across the region is different and we have to tailor our approach in order to provide the right solutions for our customer’s needs.
 

What does a typical day look like for you?

On any given day, I could meet with a producer for a new film, provide an insurance quotation for an upcoming music festival, arrange insurance for a hole in 1 at a corporate golf day, or negotiate with a client’s broker about insuring their rare arts collection. Every day is different and we are fortunate to service some exciting industries and customer segments.
 

What do you like about being with Compass Offices?

Compass have been very flexible and responsive to our office needs. We started with only 1 employee and we have since grown our operation to 3 staff. The Yee Wo Street location has been great for us as we are in the heart of Causeway Bay with convenient access to our clients across HK Island and Kowloon. The service teams have also been fantastic.
 

Favourite thing about Hong Kong?

The Hong Kong business mentality is wonderful. Everyone loves to cut a deal and the pace of business moves quickly. The business friendly insurance regulations here as well as the closer proximity to the mainland market made it easy for us to pick Hong Kong over Singapore as our regional office.
