The Senior Network Engineer (SNE) is responsible for activities related to the design, installation, management and maintenance of the enterprise-wide LAN, WAN, wireless and network security infrastructure The SNE will maintain network availability, reliability and performance that conform to all service level agreements. The SNE provides for all OS environments including systems related issues escalated from Help Desk. The SNE will establish data network standards, analyze, and resolve complex related problems and test all elements of the network infrastructure. The SNE will design and implement network solutions based on business requirements. This position requires technical knowledge and experience in monitoring , security, backup, recovery and maintaining an Enterprise datacenter with the goal to ensure the integrity of our high availability network infrastructure and to provide maximum performance for the end-users.

Responsibilities

  • Subject Matter Expert in network analysis, design and engineering.
  • Analyzes trends and assists in design and development of network plans. Interfaces with vendors to learn about new data communications technology and system upgrades.
  • Evaluates, tests, recommends, and implements specific network solutions.
  • Manage assigned network related tasks for projects.
  • Responsible for network security but not limited to threats/attack/intrusion prevention, workload and multi-cloud security, network segmentation, VPN, access control, anti-virus & anti-malware, application security, data loss prevention, email and device security, SIEM, web and wireless security.
  • Architects our network infrastructure and recommends new technology as appropriate.
  • Perform engineering, design and technical support for internal and external networks.
  • Provide hands-on support, maintenance, performance monitoring and optimization of all LAN/WAN infrastructure including wireless and associated equipments.
  • Coordinates with other Business Centers any network changes or activities that could affect them.
  • Provides planning and technical support to determine network business needs throughout the company.
  • Complies with all standard internal controls and processes.
  • Ensures that systems improvements are successfully implemented monitored to gain the greatest efficiencies.
  • Manages network projects related to technology pilots, conversions, implementations, etc.
  • Troubleshoots the most complex network issues as level 2/3 engineering support.
  • Establishes network priorities as they relate to the achievement of short and long-term business goals and objectives.
  • Full knowledge of the business and architecture of the network.
  • Manages the installation of data communication lines, networking and security equipment
  • Ensure Network Operations notification and escalation procedures are accurately followed
  • Initiate and maintain vendor relationships on all network hardware and software
  • Ability to learn new and complex technologies at an accelerated pace.
  • Effectively communicate network event status and impact to management/stakeholders.
  • Responsible for insuring compatibility and connection of networks across all our business centers in APAC.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines with minimum 6 – 8 years’ experience in Cisco Networking
  • Cisco certifications at CCNP level or higher desired.
  • Experience with Enterprise and Service Provider network hardware platforms and architectures
  • Experience in customer service, as a service provider is a definite plus
  • Experience working on project teams including providing technical consultation to Project Managers on impacts to network infrastructure.
  • Experience in performance tuning, hardware refresh, monitoring, backup and recovery and security.
  • Experience in identifying networking issues pertaining to design, optimization and implementation within client server and web/cloud architectures.
  • Experience in the design and support of complex systems.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems.
  • Ability to work independently and with various technical and non-technical entities
  • Strong competence of routing and switching technologies and protocols including TCP/IP, STP, VLAN, VRRP, CDP, LLDP, BGP,ISIS, OSPF, and MPLS
  • Demonstrate ability to analyze complex situations and utilize troubleshooting skills, systems and tools
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organization skills, Independent, excellent interpersonal skills, highly motivated and ability to work under pressure
  • On-call availability during off hours
  • Willing to work in a shifting schedule, holidays and weekends
  • Experience in using IT Service Management (ITSM) tools would be an advantage
  • ITIL Foundation Certification, PMP or higher would be an advantage but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English.
