The Network Engineer will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, supporting, developing and, in some cases, designing the communication network.

The goal is to ensure the integrity of our high availability network infrastructure to provide maximum performance for the users.

 

Responsibilities

  • Establish the networking environment by designing system configurations, directing system installations, defining, documenting and enforcing system standards
  • Perform day to day LAN, WAN and network security implementation alongside project delivery for Network services
  • Assist in network equipment configuration and service provisioning, including upgrading data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases
  • Manage and resolve customer problems and inquiries via, email/phone/face to face, and maintain up to date status of IT support ticketing system
  • Remote support of on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation and throughout the agreement term
  • Assist in developing long term strategies and capacity planning to meet future network requirements and needs within the region
  • Liaise with project management teams, third-line engineers and service desk engineers on a regular basis
  • Manage and monitor the network infrastructure and equipment across all the regions.
  • Provision network on the core network equipment.
  • Escalate and liaise with ISP and local vendors for all Internet and network related problem and outage.
  • Log and update ticket in the ITSM Ticketing tools base on category and priority.
  • Manage and support the 24x7 Network Operations Centre (NOC).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines with minimum 3 years work experience in Networking
  • Holder of CCNA and/or CCNP is a MUST
  • Experience with Enterprise and Service Provider network hardware platforms and architectures including Cisco routers, switches and firewall
  • Strong competence of routing and switching technologies and protocols including TCP/IP, STP, VLAN, VRRP, CDP, LLDP, BGP,ISIS, OSPF, and MPLS
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organization skills, Independent, excellent interpersonal skills, highly motivated and ability to work under pressure
  • Experience in customer service, as a service provider is a definite plus
  • Willing to work in a 24/7 shifting schedule, holidays and weekends
  • Experience in using IT Service Management (ITSM) tools.
